Yes, badged as Audi. In Shanghai/Beijing (the two cities in China that I have been to multiple times), Passats, A6's dominates. And I think 5 series is now also made there, so there are more and more now. China is a key market for VAG (actually for all car makers!) and this is most evident when Audi debut one of it's most important cars on the line up, the Q3 at Beijing motor show.

FYI they also make BMW's in China !
Hence why I started a thread and asked the question where the 1er was being made a while back, I did know they weren't being made in China, but just wanted to make sure they weren't coming from Sth. Africa either...and glad to find out they're made in Germany  |

RS5 is the one that strikes me as quite interesting - with a retuned RS4 4.2 V8 or possibly even a V10?! Its a genuinely nice looking car. Or even the RS6 as a sedan - ordinary looking A6-type spanking an R8 all over town. LOL!

It's almost been confirmed that the RS4/5 will have a retuned version of the current RS4 engine...I for one am VERY interested in a RS5. I think the S5 is a gorgeos car, and I can only imagine what a S5 with flared wheel arches will look like!

I must be honest the S5 was my first choice when it came to looks. The driving dynamics of it didn't impress me much. The RS5 might be a complete different monster

In a fifth gear review I saw, the S5 failed to edge out a 335i! The RS5 will need to be quite a remarkable car to take on the M3 convincingly. Frankly I do not see it happening, but I hope I am wrong. Anyway looks, will probably carry it over the line somewhat!
As an aside, 2009 will be an interesting year. Some that I find particularly interesting are the GT-R, RS6 sedan, RS5, revised 550i, revised E63, IS-F, XFR 5.0, and, of course, the return of the M3 sedan (DCT). |
