paint protection and car care products
Has anyone here heard or had any experience with Glare paint protection and car care products. Sounds like a good product if the claims on their web site are true.
Is paint protection worth it? http://www.paintprotectiondirect.com.au/ |

It's just a really durable sealant. It'll still require care and a proper wash process to maintain it, even then the durability and protective levels are heavily exaggerated.

Yes, money better spent getting it professionally detailed once or twice a year, or doing it yourself with nice products and equipment. You'll get a better result too!

^^^^ Amen to that.
I've got my TT booked in this week whilst I'm away for a stage 2 detail with a triple layering of Royale over it. Should look stunning. He'll be doing a stage 1 detail on my black 1er as soon as I get it. I'd rather give the money to one of Australia's best detailers to look after my car, then to fork out for the paint protection. It's more about the paint work prep, then the sealant. That said, Final Inpection does offer paint protection with the ultra long lasting sealant. Don't expect it to last more then 2-3 years though. $250 was the cost from memory. link: http://www.finalinspection.com.au/au...rotection.html

I'm a do it myself sort of guy. Admittedly the water restrictions in Melb meant I let my 120i go without a thorough detail for about 18mths, but two weeks ago I spent about 12 hours giving it a full detail inside and out. Results were well worth the effort. Plus the effort was half the fun.

Most of the products are Meguiars. Usual reasons. Easy to find. Pretty easy to use and deliver well above average results for not too much $$$.
That said best investment I made when starting off doing it myself was a Bosch Random Oribtal Sander/Buffer. Delivers better results quicker and makes it easier to remove the products and use less along the way.
