Go buy the new Australian Top Gear Magazine.
Just picked up the first ever Australian Top Gear magazine. They rated the 135i 18/20. Very entertaining article. Go buy a copy.
Here's the hilarious ad for it as well: |

No I didn't...yes, I know shameful for some...
Been there done that in the past, have literally dozens of boxes full of past years buying of car mags, all useless and waste of money now, so I've learned my lesson  These days I only buy a car mag if it's got an article of special interest, for example, a car I actually own (don't have the 135i and won't for some time)... These days I put that money spent on car mags towards the monthly fuel bill or the like instead  |

Although I did buy the Aussie Top Gear mag - and am tempted to subscribe - I did go to borders in the city yesterday and managed to read Evo, Car, and the UK Top Gear mag - all while sitting on their couch upstairs. |

Hey, I had a flick through this at the newsagents yesterday and would have bought it, but any review of the 135i that spends the first third of the column inches allocated dribbling on about a 70's BMW motorbike experience loses my interest quickly.
No sale.

Just got mine tonight and read the article on the 135 - just make my mouth water reading the article and you guys that have got your cars - it's not fair!! Gotta wait 'til next year, but on the upside, I guess the revised iDrive will be worth it - maybe.

To make you feel worse, I went for an early morning blast up St Marys Pass and down Elephant Pass (both Targa Tas stages) near my place, then back home along the coast. Took it to 180kph on some straights. FUN FUN FUN:thumbup: Up on Elephant Pass I encountered some heavy frost on the road. I tried to do a fishtail on some hairpin bends, and can report that the DSC works real well. Didn't try DTC mode as I am still getting used to the car.

Gradually reading my way through the first issue. I've gotta say that so far I'm not all that impressed. The articles by Clarkson & co are a great read because they start with an interesting premise, take you on a strange and miandering journey and then surprise you by linking it all up by the end of the story. The local writers on the other hand (most of whom were formerly with MOTOR), merely use a very conventional style but jazz it up with a hefty dose of colloquialisms. Not very smart, and frankly the sort of thing that almost made me cancel my MOTOR subscription. Thankfully MOTOR's back on a more interesting path in recent months ... but based on what I've seen so far, I won't be adding Top Gear Australia to my reading list.
