N54 makes BIG power.
The E90 guys and Helix running larger FMIC's that fit in the stock location on the 335. Hopefully something for the 135 in the process, but the benefits with proven dyno charts show:
-core specs are .5 psi pressure drop at 450hp(600cfm) worth of flow. -removes the approximatly 2 inch restrictive factory connections and replaces them with 2.5 inch connections. -temp drops of +/-60 degrees F at 13-13.5 psi over stock intercooler -peak HP gains of 22whp at 13-13.5psi Insane!!! http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...t=85237&page=4 heres a compilation of performance data for the Helix Intercooler: stock intercooler at 13.5psi 63 degree ambient temps: 351whp turbo outlet temperature- 228 degrees F(estimated using a 63 degree ambient and 65% compressor efficiency at 13.5 psi) AIT temp- 129 degrees F pre and post intercooler temp drop- 99 degrees F Intercooler efficiency- 60% Helix intercooler at 13.5psi 63 degree ambient temps: 372whp +22whp turbo outlet temperature 228 degrees F(estimated using a 63 degree ambient and 65% compressor efficiency at 13.5 psi) AIT temp- 75 degrees F - 54 degree drop over stock pre and post intercooler temp drop- 153 degrees F Intercooler efficiency- 93% - 33% improvement in efficiency over stock Core pressure drop spec is .5psi at 450hp(600cfm) airflow |

Will certainly be doing a bigger IC, Put on an oversized custom made one on the MINI and in summer here in WA made a BIG difference.....the MINI used to surge on very hot days with the factory IC......not any more.

nice! The AA one looks good too - as long as the numbers stack up! I tell you though, this car stock has serious power. DTC/DSC off means alot of fun. Just tapped the throttle in 1st was enough to send the car sideways - woops!

I am on 330kms.
Well today I switched off the DTC and got her sideways - that was fun. I'm not adhering to only reving the car to 4k , I've taken it past 6k. One thing I am doing is ensuring the oil reaches 90degrees before I do any funny business. |

Unexpected! I didn't thing it would do it as easily as I did, only about 3800rpm, it just went nuts When the electronics are off, they really are off!! But my mate and I had big grins on our faces.

Yeah I have tried it going sideways too. Far too easy for my liking, which is why LSD may not be such a bad idea. Waiting for my first track day on the 20th to work out if it is worth the money for the LSD...
