Cant decide on AW or JB 135i
Its KILLING ME! I have never seen an AW 135i in person, but I have seen JB/Coral Red. The black looks so nice and gives the car a menancing look IMO.
I know I will end up putting the black kidney grills on which ever I get, and maybe even the tii accesories. I have seen these on a white 135i, but not a black yet. Has anyone seen a picture of the blacked out kidney grills or other tii items on a black 135i?? If I saw one and it impressed me, i think I would go for the black. For the ones who have seen both in person. How does the JB and AW 135i compare in person? In you'all opinion which is more eye catching, boring, more sporty looking?? I need help  |

Some of us LOVE to maintain our cars. If you're one of those, JB will always look good. AW is popular and really cool on the 1er, but black gets my vote... oh, we're not voting... I like black.
The first 1er I saw in person was AW. It was beautiful with coral interior. The next time I saw one, it was sapphire black with the same interior, and I was blown away.

black looks great when clean... but you need to realize how much effort it take to keep it clean... If you are prepared to maintain the upkeep black is a wicked color... My GTI is black and I will never have another black car...

Hmmm. Never owned a black car, so i really wouldnt understand the upkeep aspect. It would seem like a white car would be more difficult to maintain because everything would be easily seen.

thats what you would think but its not... white cars don't show dirt very much but when they are dirty they just look dull but black cars show every bit of dirt...

They both look great when clean. But the AW will look better a higher % of the time IMO. I voted with my order!

I like the following with Coral
AW Black SMG Black cars are tough to keep clean and really show "nicks" and swirls. I've owned two MB's that were metallic black and would not do black again. |

Ive seen both colors in person. Also have seen an AW with the shadowline kidney grill and carbon fiber spoiler which looked amazing.
Im personally a fan of black. The only reason I didnt get it is because I dont have much time to keep it clean. If you maintain it then it will be beautiful. White is too common now, good looking but too many out there. Easier to keep clean but for some reason its the new crave and everyone who is getting a new car gets white. If you want to stand out a bit get the black. Toss some carbon fiber and the black grill and ull be hott. |

There is a high probablility that I will get a 135i. It has everything I want in a car right now. M3 would be my #1 choice, but i just graduated about a year ago, and I dont think it would be smart for me to strech and buy such an expensive car right now (62K in my config) I have battled for a while, but I am thinking the 135i will be perfect for me. My problem is that is that if I get the AW 135i, i KNOW i'm going to want to get the tii, spoiler, mirrors, and diffuser.....and probably some BBS wheels. If I got the JB, i think i could hold off on accesories for a while. I need to see an AW in person ASAP. Thanks for the comments everyone! Keep them coming, as I am sure I am not the only one with this problem. |

White is boring, commercial, and cheaper-looking, but works fairly well in the 1-Series.
Black is sexy, elegant and a bitch to keep clean. I have owned both colors and currently own the black in this car. I have also seen both of the colors side-by-side... as well as most other colors in person. Since there are issues associated with both black and white, perhaps another color should be considered... Silver might be the best color if you want a car that is easy to clean and still looks elegant. You really owe it to yourself to see these cars in person if you can. This thread will pit the white and black fans against each other in a debate that cannot be resolved. Again, look at all the colors and make up your own mind on this.

Taste are so personal but on my side Id go with Montego or SGM. Mine is white. My last Audi was black I take care of my car but swirls and nicks will show quick if its a daily driver. If I would have to do it again I would go LeMans Blue. On a side note Ive seen a silver one I found it disapointing.

white car people like to drink the "my car doesn't show the dirt" koolaid, but they are very wrong.
black > white on the E82 IMO, the white accentuates the creases on the body too much, also, it's far too common. |

But since you asked the question.... I have a black car and a white car sitting side by side in the garage. I didn't hesitate to order the 135 in White. Black is a PITA to keep clean!! I love the car in white but looking back on it, now that I've seen how good it looks, I'm a little sorry I didn't consider the Blue Water. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7331 .
