Slightly odd BMW color combo recommendations...

In the UK price / spec sheet there is an interior / exterior colour combination suggestion chart:

I've highlighted a couple of interesting points.

1) BMW think that AW with lemon leather is fine - but I think (hope!) most of us would consider than something of a clash

2) BMW think that Le Mans blue with lemon leather is not to be recommended. I've ordered this combo, but am now a little concerned. Everyone seems to think it'll look great, the lemon sample I wandered round with against a Le Mans car looked great. What do BMW know that I'm missing? They seem to think it's fine with Monaco blue, but not Le Mans or Montego

I agree with you. Some of their recommendations don't make sense. I do not see why the lemon wouldn't go with any of the blues.

Blues and Lemon go well.

They do recommend Cashmere/Coral and Sedona/Coral though.

So does that mean that I can't get Montego blue with the beige leather and black interior? I saw the picture from the chicago auto show with the vert 1er with that setup but it doesn't show it on that chart.. Anybody know?

BMW "recommends" certain combos. Order what you will.

Could it be a typo? I agree with you, Le Mans/Lemon should be fine, and it's alliterative.

This is Lemon and Le Mans and it looks fantastic. I say good choice. I actually wanted Lemon to go with my LM Blue as well but just couldn't spend the extra few bucks.

what does anyone think of Crimson red on coral? its so tough! i want a red exterior but i want the red interior too!! i love them both. but i dunno if it'd be a bit much? any input is welcome. cuzz i think the black interior is jus too dull for a bmw, its so dark its like sitting in a cave.

Crimson and Coral is too much red with possible tone conflicts, IMO.

I am kinda liking the Sedona Red / Coral, it really doesn't look bad in the 'build you own view'. But I would have to see some similar combination in real pictures.

Does anyone else think a Sedona red / Coral can work? Or should I be sticking to Sapphire Black / Coral like I originally thought?

Check out video thread of MSN UK 135i test.

They are driving Blue (I think Montego, maybe Le Mans) with Lemon interior and it looks quite good.... I think

LeMans + Lemon is terrific combo. Keep in mind that 1) BMW chose to feature that combo at a show in Sweden in the photo posted by Road Runner in this thread, and 2) BMW's literature has proven to be very error-prone.

I got the closest thing I could to that combo here in the US, and I think we're both going to be very happy when our cars arrive.

It's a nice combo clive. I'd have no worries about that. And the picture Road Runner posted above proves it. It's beautiful...

I would be very afraid of Sedona/Coral or Crimson/Coral without first seeing it in person.
IMO you are looking at a possible clash attack.

Lemon would go well with any color blue or red. So would any type of beige/tan/taupe, etc. Blue with a red interior or green with a black interior seem like odd color combos to me.

I'd actaully like an AW with a blue interior but most cars only come with tan, black, gray interiors. So boring....

There is a US E90 owner at E90Post that has a AW w/ Lemon. It actually looks okay.

There was one on ebay a few weeks ago. I was really considering the combo until I saw how quickly the sand leather was getting dirty in my X3.

I've ordered that combo, but am considering changing the interior to taupe or black...I really want the coral red but I am afraid it will clash. I sure would like to see it in person....
