Removing resonators from stock X pipe?

So I’m interested in improving exhaust noise without removing primary or secondary cats. From inspecting the stock x-pipe, there are resonators that lead into the mufflers. I’m curious if anyone has cut them out and how the sound was? I’d be pairing this with corsa mufflers. I may do test pipes for power in a few years, but for now I’d like to try this out.

Find yourself a used Macht Schnell x pipe. Put the stock x pipe in storage. Resonators exist to remove rasp and drone. You will introduce both deleting factory resonators.

I removed mine and it was fine with stock exhaust. Little more rumble and didn't notice any drone... Until I got a new rear section. Now I HATE it. Looking at valved exhausts and a new xpipe.

Catless stock x pipe with resonators intact. Previous owner installed vacuum actuated downturns before the Eisenmann Sport muffler. I hate the smell and it drones a little around 2200-2500 rpm. Saving up for an evolve x pipe or something.

I don’t think I would like to have the resonators removed.

Thanks for the input everyone! Great to learn more about the platform. I installed my corsa rear section this morning and it’s perfect. Not overbearing but has great tone compared to other systems. This will hold me over for a few years.

Interesting, so it’s practically a catless muffler delete when the downturns. Yeah that’d be overkill!
