I have to admit. I own a 330 ZHP. I found the E46 M3 better in terms of ride quality than mine (weird isn't it). When I test drove an E9X M3, I found it better than the two E46 330 and M3.

The suspension feels firm but in my opinion more comfortable than the e46 m3. You got to drive both, but in the end I believe the e92's suspension is more comfortable while at the same time providing better stability and response.
I also find the e92 m3 to have less body roll than the e46 m3 stock for stock.

E46 M3 is much less compliant than E9x. Going over rough roads in an E46 can be brutal. In an E9x on comfort or normal EDC settings it's much better. On sport it's about the same stiffness as an E46, but it still is more stable and less jarring over bumps. IMO this is where a lot of the improvement in the E9x M3's handling comes from.

The e92 is superior in every way with the EDC giving comfort when u need it. The stiff option is not really that hard a ride either and gives the car a more darty feel. I prefer the normal setting and it adapts as required automatically.
