Thank you for the maps, @Liridon! Couldn't download those because of my antivirus. It was somehow blocking mega.nz with the message "Requesting folder data" and then the security message: "Suspicious website was blocked". So I disabled the antivirus software and downloaded all the maps.
Thanks again.

If no one answers (and I'm not sure which map version a 2017 uses)...next time you're in the vehicle...if you have the navigation up on the iDrive screen...just press the OPTION button next to the iDrive contoller knob and scroll down and select Navigation System Version (or something very similar). iDrive will give you the road map version you are currently running.

Here's some examples...

this 2017 version is NBT/EVO

this 2016 version is NBT/EVO

Dumb question, but once you have the file, how do you get it onto the NBT?

No such thing as a dumb question. Copy the files (from memory, 5 folders and 3 files) onto a usb memory stick. Put memory stick into USB port in centre console and drive. Vehicle will detect new maps and ask (on iDrive screen) whether you wish to install. Select 'yes' and away it goes. Maps take over an hour to install but this can be spread over multiple journeys (you don't have to go for a 2-hour drive).

Garage List
2020 BMW M5  [10.00]
2014 X5 50i  [0.00]
You can also just hook up a battery tender and let it run in the garage. Make sure you put the car into accessory mode.

It doesnt let you download more than 3% before stopping you and forcing you to wait another 5 hours. Could you please upload the files somewhere else because these map updates are way too expensive at BMW's garages.
