Joined the Club...Finally

Hi fellow 1addicts!

I recently wised up and joined the club. I acquired an e82 2013 135i Space Grey Metallic with Coral Red Boston leather, 6spd, M Sport, No Navigation with 35k miles.

When the 1 series first went for sale here in 2008, I said to myself that I will buy one of those in about 10 years. I have a history and passion of Japanese turbocharged cars. So when BMW released a RWD, Turbo, Inline 6, Manual car it immediately caught my eye.
After several years of searching and watching BMW 135i’s go for sale, I finally decided to make the move.

My first car back in 2003 was a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4. If you don’t know about those cars, please do yourself a favor and look into it 😊
The VR-4 was such a blast to drive. It was far from perfect with its dull red paint but it pulled very hard when it was not in the shop. Unfortunately, I only owned the car for a little over 2 years, as I got hit in an accident and the damage was enough to total the car.

To be able to commute to college, a 2002 Hyundai Sonata become the new daily driver.

It wasn’t until 2011 when I decided to find my roots as a car enthusiast and get back in the game. That is when I purchased a 1999 Lexus SC300. I owned this car for a while until I started to get into Autocross around 2017. I upgraded the wheels, tires, suspension, added an LSD and got some good seat time.

A piece of me was still missing from my teenage fast & furious days. In 2018 I decided to restore some balance to my life, and found a low mileage (43k) 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 from the original owner. I love owning this car and even more driving it. But it is not something that should be driven everyday.

One year later, my SC300 suffered an accident resulting in total loss. I was able to find a replacement several months later in the form of a 1999 Lexus SC400 Silver with Black interior. This served as the new daily/autocross car for the near future and was also a nice upgrade compared to the SC300. As now the VVTI 4.0 V8 boasted 290hp and an extra gear in the automatic. Plus the color combo was my favorite other than the rare RSP.

But….. I always kept looking out for the 135i.
Doing research on the pros and cons. Making sure I knew what I was getting into.
I looked on every auto sales site known to man, looking for that exact spec I was looking for. Finally, I pulled the trigger when I found one on Carvana.

Without further ado, enjoy some photos.

-Randy

Looking clean man, and nice stable of cars too. Mad jelly. Also jelly of the coral red interior. Good luck with your ownership of the car. Coincidentally you are where my 128i was originally bought from new and was staying when I bought it and brought it to NM.

Thank you very much. The Coral Red was a must for me.
Hope your FL car treats you well!

Thats funny. Le Mans Blue with Coral Red was my original choice, but I decided to diversify my colors since the VR4 is Blue

Thanks!
Haha Gran Tursimo 1 - 5 is perfect way to describe it. Definitely grew up at perfect age for those games.

Sure, here are some pics of the other ladies including my first SC.

I'll buy those mud guards/flaps if you ever want to sell them haha. Super lucky that those came on your car, and I'm jealous

I did not realize they were on the car until it arrived, and also did not realize they were desirable.
They have grown on me since I've had the car but at first was thinking of removing. Will likely keep now I know they are rare. But will let you know if I change my mind.
