Stonechips
I repaired some stonechips using the touch up stick that came with the car, but its ended up looking worse and more obvious than before. It looks like its the wrong colour, but it isnt! How can i sort it out?!

i wonder if it would be better to go with a plain silver as a touch-up paint? lighter vs. darker. seems like the most important thing about fixing stone chips is layers (4+ coats) and a good really, really fine paint brush.

Might be a little late now that the paint dried but go to www.premiumautocare.com and read some of the tips/advice on stone chip repair. It's a lengthy process but supposed to work well. Or just get the hood re-painted, wait about 7 days for the paint to cure then go and get a shop to install a clear bra and you'll never worr about it again. My entire hood, carbon fiber roof, both doors, entire front grill/bumper, and both L/R front fenders are completely covered with a clear bra done by "PainSheild" and they use I guess a new high-tech clear plastic covering. In fact I had so far two things happen and a body shop just knocked out the small dents and no re-paint was needed because it protected the paint 100%. I had a hand-car wash wond hit the hood by the bulge next to the driver side air intake leaving a 3" light dent and some ignorant asshole put a small door ding on my passenger side. Both were knocked out and no re-paint needed. Looks brand new. these pics are of the damage before it got fixed and you'll see it's hard to see the dents but there is no paint damage whats so ever.
Plus it's so easy to clean and I don't have to spend several hours waxing all the time, no swirl marks, just wash, dry, and quick detail then back in the garage it goes. Next I'll be getting the R/L rear quarter panels, the pillers from the windshield to the back window and the trunk top lid done. I've seen entire 599, 430, and an Enzo Ferrari done from front to back with this stuff at the Annual British Ferrari club this summer. Amazing stuff and won't hurt your paint. |

Dr, ColorChip
I have not used this product, but they make some large claims. Might try it.
