laser/ radar detecter with 100 percent laser and radar jamming for under $169... ???

please dont yell at me if i sound really ignorent!

I went to a local alarm shop to get quote on a laser jammer.

The advised me to get this product:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ROCKY-MOUNTAIN-R...3286.m20.l1116

they told me this product works as well as all the high end radar laser jamming / detecting systems

They claim that if any highway cop shoots u with a lidar, laser or radar gun they will not be able to determine your speed. they claims its 360 degrees and no need for any hard wiring or mounting in bumper..

Is this true?

If not what products do u guys recommend that are not too costly and dont alter cosmetic appearence of car,

iwant a reliable radar/ laser detecer that also jams a cops signal.....undetectable!!!!

thanks

I'm curious to how it scrambles laser if it's mounted in the windshield? Isn't laser small and the jammer has to be located somewhere near where the laser is hitting, usually the front license plate?

Laser jammers are legal, Radar detectors are legal, Radar jammers are illegal, in NY

Radar jammers, even if effective (and for $169, it won't be), are illegal everywhere in the US. It's federal law.

there's no way that thing would work. most laser scramblers in the price range have a small tiny tiny low powered led that "tries" to jam the laser that hits it but its way too weak to do any significant jamming.... dont waste your money... a good laser jammer would be something like escort 9500ci, laser interceptor, laser park pro.

RMR stuff is known to be fake and 100% junk. Doesn't even detect radar well. Many tests have confirmed that they are junk.

Complete crap. Jamming radar is illegal... like more illegal than speeding. Jamming laser is not illegal, but it is a little more involved than that thing could possibly muster. As said above, it probably doesn't even detect radar very good, if at all, let alone jamming it. Just like most anything else, stick with the name brands that have a reputation and if it seems to good to be true, it probably is... especially if it's on ebay.

DON'T GET IT! RMR units do not work. Get either the Valentine1, Escort 9500xi or Bel STI for a radar/laser detector. Then get either a Laser Interceptor, Blinder M25, or Laser Pro Park for laser jamming.

Thanks

You can only get the Valentine 1 at their website (valentine1.com). Radarbusters.com sells Escort and Bel as well as the Blinder laser jammer. I believe that Laser Park Pro and Laser Interceptor are only sold over the internet. Do a search, you'll find plenty of places selling them.

BTW, don't get the V1 anywhere else but from Valentine 1. I've seen other websites that advertise it for sale but they want $100 more than V1 sells them for ($399 btw).

guys... while radar jammers are a somewhat different story, laser jammers are not illegal on a federal level. Most state troopers use laser technology today, as it gives drivers no warning of having their speed measured. Banning these types of products is a state to stat thing. Check out what guys of Lidar have to say...

http://www.guysoflidar.com/usa-laser-jammer-laws.html

most laser jammers just emit light to throw of a laser reading. It is very hard legally to ban products that emit light on the font of your car. You Cali guys got a bad break, and in Virginia tampering with any police tools is illegal. Here in the northeast though, jamming is a go!

I just bought a Laser Interceptor for myself (imported from Europe). It is apparently the best thing money can buy, and it better be for $600! I will let you all know how it goes in a separate thread.

The Laser Interceptor lists for $1600. I've heard that some are getting it for $1100. Remember that installation is extra. BTW, these are parking assist devices, not laser jammers.

These, ahem, parking assist devices, don't just emit IR light. They emit pulses of IR just like the lidar devices do. If a lidar unit receives a constant IR beam it signals to the operator that it may be being jammed.

The LI is considered the best right now. I have had a Lidatek LE-30 for a while now. It seems to work for me. (Fortunately, for some unknown reason, cops around here don't use them very much anymore.) I'm sure the LI would be better but I'm not going to spend the money to replace something that already works.

Also, you can be forewarned of laser with a radar/laser detector. This may only work for the V1 because the V1 seems to have the best laser detection. Sometimes when targeting someone in front of you the laser will be scattered and V1 will detect this. It has worked for me like a charm. Keep a rabbit in front of you. It's pretty cool how the V1 laser detector will alert (several times in fact as the LEO keys the trigger on his device as he targets one car after another) and then when the cars in front have moved away from between me and the LEO the jammer will go off.

Laser Detectors: Valentine 1, Escort 8500

Laser Detector/Jammer: Laser Interceptor, Blinder M35/M45

Radar/Laser Detector, Laser Shifter: Escort 9500ci, K40

Some areas cops still use radar so best bet would be to get the Escort 9500ci or Calibre K40 which is a combo unit that integrates Radar detector along with a Laser detector/shifter (Jammer). They will run you around $1800 installed.

Just the few I could think about. Check out Radar Roy's website for some useful info:
