Z4 M Coupe Roaring Noise ?
I just bought this car last week went to VT for the weekend ...I just love it. I had a 911 before this car and I prefere the M Coupe. I just have a small question for the Ms Owners. I am hearing a roaring noise in the engine between 3k and 3k5 and disappear after 3k5. is it normal ?

Might be the VANOS system. If so, perfectly normal. I actually took my car to the dealer to make sure it was normal for the engine and they said the S54 is normally busy sounding and esp. around the 3k mark with the VANOS system is changing.

"Roaring" noise? The noise the Vanos makes between 3000 and 3500 RPM's is more like a "ticking" or metalic sound. I've never heard it described as a roaring noise.
