Most Comfortable and Quiet Tire for 750
My Pirelli P Zero’s are wearing thin on the front edges after only 15,000 miles so I need to go tire shopping.
What is the most comfortable and quiet tire for 245/40/20 up front and 275/35/20 on the rear? I do have the spare tire kit so I do not need run flat tires. I also do not push the car hard at all and am willing to give up performance for comfort, quietness and wet/snow traction. Thanks in advance for your advice! |

My previous 750 2016 had run flats P Zero's. The current 2018 vehicle got the non-run flats Michelin PilotSport. I'm finding the Michelins are considerably more comfortable, lesser noise and better handling, better comfort. I will definitely get the same Michelins again when time comes.

I have Michelin PS4S tires on my 750 and love them. They're a Max Performance Summer tire and then I have a set of dedicated winter tires. I had a set of Ultra High Performance All-Season tires on my last car (Audi A8L) and they were great: Michelin PILOT SPORT A/S 3+. They were great in the summer and did better than expected on snow. Not so great on ice.
The stock run-flats were just horrible, in my opinion. Noisy and hard as a rock. I blew one out on a pothole, which is something I've never had happen to a tire before. The sidewalls just have no flex on the stock run-flats. |

My winter tires are Pirelli P Zero Snow (or whatever they call them) and they are fantastic in the slush and snow conditions of Northern New England. I also considered Nokian Haakapelliitta but they are a lot stiffer and less sporty. I have also heard great things about Michelin Pilot Sport tires. If you want softer and quiet you need to get away from run flats. They are stiffer and louder comparatively no matter what tire brand you select. |

Michelin PS4S here ... handles extremely well and soft/quiet. Way better than the stock RFs.
If you're in a cold state, I'd go A/S vs Summer

Old thread, yes, yet still relevant.
Yesterday I had the PRF tires swapped out for a set of Continental ExtremeContacts DWS06 PLUS. I then drove from El Paso to Phoenix, about 430 miles. These tires are wonderful! Quiet, smooth, excellent grip, etc. For less than $1,000 OTD with replacement certs from Discount Tire, they seem to be a great value. |
