Bluetooth Stream not working

Hey guys, did a moderate search and didn't come up with anything definitive.

My phone syncs up just fine with bluetooth in the vehicle. It's able to make and take calls. But recently the music streaming ability stopped working? Music will work if it's hardwired into the USB/Aux port.

Could it be a faulty fuse?

I did recently have some software update to the vehicle when the tow hitch was installed. Could it be that?

Make sure your phone's bluetooth permissions give the car access to Media and Phone Audio

Then likewise, make sure the bluetooth settings in the car has access to Contacts and Audio.

When I synced my wifes phone to my 2012 it kicked my phone to just Contacts and I had to select back Audio as an option for my phone.

Not sure if it matters, but I use a Samsung Galaxy S7 / S9

I have an iPhone. I don't see a setting for contact/music toggles. I see sync contacts and thats it.

Are you talking about in the vehicles bluetooth settings, or in the phone settings?

When your phone is connected to the car do you see Music Notes and a Contact icon next to it in the Bluetooth menu? Hit the Option button on the iDrive controller to access the Bluetooth options for the connected device.

Ok, so got in the car and took pics of the screens.

First go to CD/Multimedia and find your device. then click on the Option button by the iDrive controller.





Then scroll down to CD/Multimedia and make sure Bluetooth is selected.



Now scroll back up to Configure Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth Audio is selected.



Finally, go back one screen and scroll to Configure Phone and make sure Telephone and Audio are selected.




If none of that works, delete your phone from the vehicle and delete the vehicle from your phone and start the pairing process over again.

Odd that it randomly stopped working, it must've been when the software update to the vehicle took place. Thanks again
