Down Pipes F85

Any downpipes that anyone knows of that doesn't throw a check engine light or any sort of code off?

If you're going catless, I'm pretty sure you'll need a tune regardless of brand. When I got my catless dp's I also did a stage 2 tune so my guy took care of the CEL when coding.

You will get a CEL no matter what so you can either get it cleared when running a tune or you can keep your OEM hardware (Catted DP etc) and go with a stage 1 tune... you'll still see a noticeable difference.

Probably a dumb question. But I'm assuming the tune will take care of passing inspections right? My M5 is catless and I'm failing inspection. It's tuned to pass inspection and no CEL. But monitoring for O2 sensor and Secondary Pump is "Not Ready." So I can't pass inspection. I would like to go catless on my X5M but don't want the hassle of failing inspection in NY.

An M5 and an X5M...nice!

I just ran into this issue on my E70 X5M. I couldn't pass inspection because systems weren't "ready" due to my tune. Fortunately, I didn't have downpipes so I just tuned it back to stock and passed inspection.

I'm probably not going to go do downpipes now because I'd either have a CEL or systems "not ready" ...either way, a fail on my next inspection. Wisconsin inspects emissions every 2 years.

You can run o2 spacers on the second o2 sensor on the downpipes to pass inspection. On my X5M and M4 I have this setup and I was able to pass inspections in RI. The spacers cost around $15 for two sets. You place two on one sensor and two on the other and you're good. Now if you have a cel already you might have to drive around a bit after you install the spacers for the monitors to turn ready but you should be fine.

You can check error code. I think it is not about cat efficiency. I installed mini cat. the efficiency error gone but new error code shows rich to lean slow.
