Help Please - New owner.
Hi Guys,
As mentioned in a recent post I have recently bought a 2014 F10 M5 (LCI). I am very pleased with it so far. I just have a couple of issues I hope you guys can assist with. 1. The buttons around the gear stick that control the suspension, throttle, TC etc don't seem to be working, is this a common problem with an easy fix or do they require replacing? If so does anyone know the procedure / part numbers etc 2. The rear heated seats arent working, lights don't come on the buttons when pressed and the seats don't heat up. Suspect fuse maybe? Any help would be greatly appreciated, Many Thanks |

Fuse maybe. Hard to believe the drivelogic buttons could be worn out.
A long shot but a possibility is that someone has previously taken apart the center console, and not plugged the harness connectors for the drivelogic buttons and the rear seat heater buttons back in. I'm not sure if the seat heater buttons have connectors separate from the rear climate control, and you didn't mention whether the HVAC controls worked or not. Something to keep in mind. ISTA+ can be used to test whether the buttons work by monitoring their status while pushing and releasing. If you or a friend has such a setup it can be tested at home. Otherwise, an independent BMW shop is a good alternative to diagnose it because none of this type work requires a dealer and you have no warranty anyway to worry about. |

Thank you for that, something to look into.
Appreciate it. Don't suppose anyone has a how to on taking the centre console apart to check these connectors? Quote:

How did you buy this car? Didn't you test drive it? I would be taking it to someone who knows what they are doing if you haven't taken dashes apart before...
