Violent Shift
For the past several weeks I've noticed a more violent shift periodically when getting up to speed on the interstate. If I smash the accelerator on the on ramp the tranny acts normal, but if I'm gradually building speed I can feel a more violent shift around the 60mph mark. Has me a bit worried. Approaching 80K miles and have recently put thought into a tranny fluid drain and fill. You guys think this would help? I will note I've got the RC GTS black w/ app control and I typically leave it in race mode, but I've been running it since June and I'm just now noticing these shifts. Thoughts?

Happened again this morning, but almost felt like a misfire. CEL illuminated so I'll get it read and report back. Note, GTS black was still enabled at the time of the CEL.

CEL went off before I could have it read. That's nothing new though, as it throws a CEL often with RC in race mode. I can't remember the specific code but it's description was something like "to much air". Anyhow, the code will come on for a day or two then disappear. Car drives fine with it on. Car behaved normal this morning on my way into work. Note, I turned the RC off yesterday so the two might be correlated. I'll test it out some more. sj22, can you elaborate a bit more on the choppiness? |

I get a hard shift at low RPM sometimes when the engine is cold.

You can also reset transmission adaptations. Basically I think the jerky shifts come quite early compared to an actual CEL. |

Reverted back to the RC race setting last week and noticed when I floored it I could hear the boost dump into the engine bay making a gush sound. The lack of boost was apparent as far as acceleration. I popped the hood looking for a possible leak but didn't see one. I'll investigate further this weekend. I've replaced the upper charge pipe. Maybe the leak is coming from the lower portion Anyone experienced this?

I replaced the charge pipe with the metal one that Ben sales a few months back. |

Its the black plug on top of the charge pipe. When I installed the new charge pipe, I assumed that the plug was seated properly. But I began to hear air coming out of the intake and I checked the plug and I was able to pull the plug out without any resistance. I took a small hammer and tapped it into place and I haven't had any issues with hard shifts, the air coming from the intake is gone, and all of my intake codes have gone away. So far so good. This maybe what you need to check into.
