X5/X6 50i oil change - torques

I'm about to do a DIY oil change on our X5 and X6 (both 50i) and while everything seemed straight forward, I came across this recommendation by FCPEuro which confuses me a bit:

Please note: N63 engines require the drain plug being torqued to 40Nm while N63T and N63R engines require the drain plug be torqued to 25Nm. In addition the oil filter cap is initially torqued to 30Nm, then release torque with counterclockwise 180 degree turn, and final torque to 40Nm. The oil filter cap drain plug must be torqued to 10Nm. If you do not have an oil filter cap socket please see BMW special tool p/n 119 240.

Source: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...kt#description

So, if I understand correctly, there's the oil filter cap where the big mahle/mann filter goes to which needs to be torqued at 30nm then 40nm.
Then, there's the small oil filter drain plug where the old oil comes out which needs to be torqued at 25nm for the N63T engines.
What I don't get is the last sentence bolded above. What is the oil filter cap drain plug? I thought it's either the filter cap or the drain plug...

Also, my Tekton torque wrench min setting is 13.6nm or 10lb ft. Will this shear the "oil filter cap drain plug" that must be torqued at 10Nm when going over by just 3.6Nm?

Thanks a bunch!

Isn't the oil filter on the bottom on the v8?
There is the cap, then there is a little bolt in the end of the cap to drain the oil or first. Right? That's how my old 550 was.
And torque isn't that relevant. The oil seals prevent leak. Just snug up the cap until it bottoms out.

That’s right, the filter cap is located under the car. So what they’re saying is that there’s a drain plug on the filter cap as well?

At least on older v8 there is a little allen bolt with a rubber oil seal on the cap.

My N63TU 2014 does not have the oil filter drain plug. Which is annoying because removing the oil filter means a big splash of oil everywhere.

You can get the oil filter cap with drain plug that is for the F85. Then just get the F85 oil filter kit, which includes a new cap drain plug. I got a bunch from getbmwparts.com, they were around $22 each. Unfortunately FCP Euro doesn’t sell them yet.
