Fuel injectors

So I had my engine replaced I paid out pocket at the dealer
So first the Tec tells me my rack was leaking so we changed that
Now he’s telling me that I need injectors because the other bmw
Dealer installed the wrong ones eu6 that are my car and he said I need eu5

Long story short last year the dealer replaced my engine in California
I got it with 3000 miles on the engine I was getting lean codes in both
Banks then I tuned it and it went boom 💥 now that they replaced my engine
Still getting lean codes

I wonder if the injectors caused the "new" engine to blow. Really sucks and would be hard to prove if true so that you could get your money back.

The reason for the two are because of EU emissions going to EU6 standard in 2015. Different part numbers, but an identical-looking part. The only thing I have ever really heard about the EU5 injectors is that they sounded like they had more problems with them than anything I have ever read about the EU6 injectors.
