Red exterior is better in person

Just saw a Red M3 IRL for the first time today. On my walk from office to lunch in Irvine. It looks good. No it is not Porsche nor Ferrari red. It has a bit of orange, not nearly as much as some photos make it seem and a good bit of metal flake. It is a strong "sports car red" but it just different enough to be novel and interesting.

My first MR encounter IRL was Pencilgeek's car at Spocom. After that, I really like the red. It's a beautiful shade of red IMO.

One of my coworkers has one, and it looks really nice. However, I prefer my Space Gray...

It is no doubt the nicest exterior color that rarely shows up in pictures well. The same goes for Fox Red interior. Go figure.

1st E92 M3 I ever saw in person was MR and I thought it looked good, but not good enough for me from getting AW.

Coming out of an AW 335i sedan, I was all set on getting the E92 M3 in AW/Fox. However, when I went to order and saw the MR/Bamboo, I fell in love and decided to go with MR/Bamboo. I still liked the AW/Fox, but the MR/Bamboo combo really did it for me - I was probably affected by the fact that I have two other white cars, not including my recently sold 335i. You can't go wrong with AW or MR, though!

I wanted to do it, but couldn't muster up the nerve. That's a combo I would have to see 'live' before committing to it. The Fox interior is gorgeous in person, and it really caused a dilemma for me b/c I decided MR was my favorite exterior color and Fox was my favorite interior color, but I also wanted an interior/exterior contrast. I literally had to stare at AW/Fox vs. MR/Bamboo for about 10 minutes before I made a decision.

MR certainly looks different IRL than in pictures. I like it IRL. I made the same mistake with the E46 Imola Red. It looked less than stellar in images, yet real nice on the road. Neither color is so bright that MR with FR won't look good. I think the red/red will be a winner. Do it Stunnerable.

I thought about putting it in the "sightings" or general areas but it is really a topic purely about visuals. Maybe an odd decision I made. What section would you have suggested?

And I dont see the wealth of M3s you see there either! I only go twice a week now and from 10-6 I am tucked away in my office over by the Tustin Marketplace.
