Rain sensor leaking clear fluid

Tried to google this but didn’t come up with much.

My 17 M3 has a tiny bit of clear fluid that leaks from the rain sensor down the inside of the windshield.

Dealer looked at it once and apparently cleaned and or sealed something.

But it still leaks. When I asked the service advisor again he said there are no further actions to take.

So ..this is normal and not needing repair? Anyone else have his?

Hmmm! I didn't know there was fluid in there. Now I'm curious.

Sounds like you have a leak at the top of the windshield. Dealership is useless as always, I'd suggest trying another.

Definitely not water. It’s oily and only shows a tiny line descending from the bottom of where the mirror attached to the glass.

Do you have a picture?

It could be the mirror not the sensor. The sensor needs to be replaced once removed from the windshield, so I don't think your dealership sealed anything.

I had the exact same problem on my ‘15 M3. There is a small silicone pack on the rain sensor that sometimes leaks. The dealership can easily replace the silicone pack in conjunction with the sensor.

Your service advisor is uninformed.
