Gearheads DIY Lifts (Oceanside)

Now that I'm in San Diego I'm looking to do some maintenance after my 3,200 mile drive. I'm currently staying in a hi-rise in downtown San Diego so working on my car is tricky. I'm looking for a place with a lift I can use to do an oil change and couple other basic maintenance things (changing spark plugs, inspecting the damage a ridiculous hilly street crest in San Diego did to my new $1,1000 x-pipe, etc).

Anyone have experience with Gearheads in Oceanside? It' about 30 miles from me but appears to be the closest. Looks promising. Any other recommendations?

Never been there.. there used to be another DIY garage in Escondido but I believe it shut down. I know its not as great as a full lift, but I have a Quick Jack, lots of tools (everything needed for basic stuff such as oil changes, spark plugs on the E9x, etc), you're welcome to cruise up and use my garage if you'd like. I'm up in North County, about a 30-35 min drive from downtown SD.

Thanks that's super nice of you! I may take you up on that at some point if you're going to be tinkering on your car as well.

I ended up checking out Gearheads last Thursday. It's sort of a no-frills shop, it was pretty quiet. Watched a one minute safety video, and the guys pretty much left me to my own devices. They apparently have tools I brought my own. But for $30/hr ($15/hr for members), it's a great deal. I didn't feel pressured, looked over, etc. The owner (at least who i assume is the owner) was super personable and nice.

Nice! I'll check that place out if I ever need a full lift. Yeah feel free to hit me up if you ever want a garage to work in, I usually have some sort garage project going on so I'm always tinkering with something.
