Horn won't stop blowing
After getting my M performance wheel installed, I was on the freeway and noticed that the horn would go off when hitting small bumps. As I kept driving every time I would brake hard or go over a speed bump it would honk. Now it's basically stuck honking LOL.
If someone could please let me know how to disconnect the horn before my car gets towed or knows what my issue is, please message me! Thank you, Mike

Try popping the airbag out and see if all the wires are correctly in place?

Did that and everything looked good. Honestly it's the strangest thing ever.

Check the wires themselves then - they might have damaged the casing or whatever it's called one one of them when shoving them back in and bare wire is touching something metal

The horn is activated by pressing on the airbag. This presses a plate down that the airbag is mounted to. As the airbag can be pressed in the center or virtually anywhere and angle, several springs are behind the plate to keep the plate from completing the circuit while allowing it to be pressed on a gimbal of virtually anywhere on the airbag. One or more of the springs are not mounted correctly and thus allowing the connection to complete when you hit a bump. Take Airbag off and see where the springs are wrong allowing the horn to be activated. It's allowing the unit to be close to depressed on one of the sides most likely. You hit a bump...Connection made...horn blows. Or sounds like it's constantly depressed if horn is continuously now. |
