Macht Schnell - Exhaust Valve Control (EVC) Module with Downpipes -Engine Check Light

I installed VRSF Downpipes last week along with Macht Schnell EVC module which is supposed to clear the engine check light (CEL). Yesterday the engine check light came on as expected however although the EVC module is working (I can use the other features), I have the OBD2 clearing active and it will not clear the CEL.
Anyone has experience with this? I am I missing something or does the EVC not clear this any more?

Thanks,

This won't clear the check engine light.

You need a tune to remove it.

Apologize for reviving an old thread but I was told this too and my codes are still there. I guess you can't clear the downpipe code without a tune.

It should should be able to handle the CEL as that is what they advertise it does and can be used for.

Maybe someone from EAS can help clear things up since they sell it? tom @ eas

From their advertising:

OBD2 Cycling
- OBD2 Cycling is helpful when performing diagnostics or clearing engine codes on a programmable timed cycle. Also useful for those running off-road track setups.

WARNING: Please note that certain aftermarket exhaust systems and/or accessories may not comply with applicable US (including California) laws and regulations, and may therefore be prohibited for use on highways or roads, or on roads or vehicles otherwise subject to emissions control requirements. California prohibits the use of any aftermarket exhaust system that modifies, removes or replaces original equipment catalysts, unless CARB has issued an Executive Order as to such part or system.

Additional Features
The Macht Schnell EVC module also has a user-configurable Check Engine Light Suppressor model for those running Catless downpipes.

It was the one feature on that controller that didn't work for me. Everything else did, which I might add this is one of the best mods I've done to the car lol. I love this EVC.

Sweet! I am installing mine tomorrow, just got it in the mail . I couldn't turn off Active Sound when I was coding the car, really looking forward for dumping that.

I was not able to figure out the CEL clearing, everything else worked as I expected. Nonetheless I went with bm3 for now and removed the EVC. however I do miss the open exhaust at the start. bm3 has that feature but its not completely open, it was way louder with the EVC at start.

Good to hear Bootmod3 cleared the CEL issue

You can use Bootmod3 + EVC together

This is my plan. Crank hub fix going in soon and then it will be BM3 plus EVC for ease of switching valves while driving.

Plug the EVC into a USB port in your computer and verify firmware is up to date and settings are correct.
