It was obvious from the start the M3 is going to be last considering the horsepower deficit compared to the rivals. Testa is about the same hp but AWD + instant torque + no gears = win in a straight line.
The C63s is a beast! Around the track I predict winner will be Giulia > Tesla > M3 > C63S. I wouldn’t be surprised if Tesla would win around the track too. Competition has gotten really crazy. I hope BMW has something up their sleeve with the next M3.

It’s so easy to serve up a side of Gapplesauce at stoplights in a model 3P
Glad Chris made it a 1/2 mile drag race Is there hot lapping later in that episode? |

FWIW - on the shorter handling course they set up, the Model 3 beat the Giulia by 0.5 seconds.
Also, one of my favorite lines from the entire test was “...of course in the real world, the others wouldn’t see which way the Tesla WENT!” 😎 |

FWIW, it hits 100 mph in the mid-8 second range, and it's really not until about 110 where the acceleration begins to tail off noticeably. Passing on 2-lane highways is ridiculous fun! |

Not sure Im ready to give up the sounds and high speed acceleration just yet but unfortunately my lease is coming to an end in December and my buy out is pretty high since I got an incredible lease rate. Ideally I would like to get into the new m3 but that wont be released in time . Every time I get stuck in traffic I wish I was back in autopilot making the Tesla a very good choice. |

One of my friends sold his 700hp e63 with resonator delete (eg similar ballpark as your f80) to get model 3P and is very happy with it. Yes it’s nice to have epic 60-130 but he didn’t use it much but he uses autopilot daily multiple times a day and is happy with the move. I hear you though, model 3P isn’t the car for highway roll racing shenanigans |

Not to be a Debbie downer but please be careful. You could find yourself being charged with felony speeding or reckless if caught and that is going to require some serious lawyering up $$$$ Good thing you’re getting a model 3 A side benefit about the silence is you can use the full throttle a LOT more in low speed conditions. Corner exit shenanigans will replace your high speed roll shenanigans. |

We have many good open and straight highway roads here in miami to do 160+ in a fast car. 130 from 80 or so only takes a few seconds and then its hard on the brakes. It would be nice to have low end speed to replace the high speed.
You see these new raven motors? |

The Tesla could do 0 to 60 in one second; It's just not appealing to me.
Now that "performance playing field is level" it's about what you like. When I see a Tesla on the road I have zero connection to that car. Benze if I went the automatic transmission route. |

That said, and if you haven't already done so, do yourself a favor and go drive a Model S Performance in ludicrous mode. It's very entertaining!! |

And maybe a touch better looking front end/bumper, like close to what they did with the new up coming roadster out in 2020.

Satisfy my curiosity. I tell ya what though... When I got to the Mall and I see the cars plugged in and the owners sitting there reading a magazine, it gives me anxiety. if I had the budget for an expensive 100% commuter car then perhaps; my commute is 15 minutes. (I Daily my 06 GTI and occasionally the M3) Tesla is not a car I'd do a road trip with or have as a weekend fun car. |
