Free phone? Sure I'll take it! All kidding aside, I think you'd be the first F85 owner to try this. Keep us posted if decide to take on such a project.

Having seen the 6WB it's a bit underwhelming, certainly not worth $1500+ plus the install/coding hassle. I would wait for the next version as the first digital clusters from most manufacturers have been mediocre and BMWs is no different.

I think it would likely be similar to doing it on a 40e (which also lacks this option). It will work, however you miss out on any specific menus you’d expect for your vehicle. For the 40e, you don’t get any of the battery or charging info.

So what would an f85/86 loose, if any? Aside from 200mph on the dash , isn't the 6WA the same on f15/16 as the f85/86 ?

Might lose some HUD functionality as well - not sure.

///M vehicles communicate differently than non-M vehicles (F-Chassis) between the transmission and kombi.

Therefore it is impossible

I had the 6wb in my F15, i'd rather my f86 dash, like mentioned before not worth the money, and compared to the g series dashes and the f90, it's way too outdated.

The instrument cluster in the X5M is unique to the "M" model. You may lose some option or design element that the other regular 6WA & 6WB clusters don't have.

Does the X5M even have ECO PRO mode? (I honestly don't know)

I believe it says "efficient" if you leave everything in start up mode

No - You cannot even “Code- Eco Pro” - So No , and yes everything is swappable but at what cost 🤷🏻*♂️- I did the steering wheel upgrade and looks FANTASTIC!!!!! (Red M buttons- With Carbon surround) - Short of that - honestly if you have a F85 - I cannot see why to upgrade to G // looks wise is not much more then an”Heavier” LCI so ? Honestly I believe F85 - Looks 10X better !!!
