Engine stutters when accelerating under 3k rpm

I always use high octane gas in my Z4, but a while back I had to put some mid grade fuel in the tank. I immediately noticed stuttering during acceleration at all RPM ranges. I've since gone back to high octane gas and the problem got much better.

However, I am still noticing some stuttering when accelerating at low RPMs <3k. Any idea what might be going on?

Thanks a bunch!
