Opinion on Aibags and Child
I have a 7 year old that is approx 44" tall and 40lbs. I know what is recommended, but I think he would be safer in the front seat of my 04 Z4 as long as the seat is all of the way back with the airbags on instead of off. He is still in a booster, I even question that. I just got the car and he has not ridden in it yet. Any experience with this would be appreciated.

Im not sure but I know we never used a booster in the Z4 when he was 7. The decision to stop using a booster is based on the childs height and weight as I recall.

I think front seat is a good call. Outside of that I don't have any experience.

Here are the rules in my part of Canada :
A child must be a minimum of 18 kg (40 lb) before he or she can move to a booster seat. The child must continue to use a booster seat until 9 years old OR until the child meets both of the following criteria: 37 kg (81.5 pounds) 145 cm (4′ 9″) And of course check to see what rules are where you live.
