I don't know of any while the oil pan is off, But while your at it i'd recommend the two gaskets on the oil filter, heat exchange housing. Its sort of easy to reach and only about 60 bucks, should be changed around 75-100k miles.

I have a 2006 E90 with an N52 in it with 370,000 miles so I know the N52 pretty well. If you've done the top side gaskets: oil filter housing, and valve cover, then really all that is left is the oil pan gasket. Now don't let it trick you into thinking the rear crank seal is leaking. The rear of the oil pan intrudes into the bellhousing behind the flywheel. The N52 pan usually starts to leak in the right rear corner. That where it is first visible at least, but it will also leak at the rear lip of the pan inside the bellhousing and make it look like the rear crank seal is leaking.

I replaced my oil pan gasket on my E90 as a DIY and I've replaced the clutch also. I did the clutch first and bought a rear crank seal thinking the seal was leaking. When I pulled the trans out, and removed the flywheel, the rear crank seal was dry as a bone, and still is at 370,000. The leaking rear of the oil pan made such a mess in the bellhousing, I repaired the oil pan gasket within the next few weeks.

If you are going to DIY the oil pan, the E90 DIY section has a great DIY on the oil pan gasket. The procedure requires the front subframe to be dropped, the newtis.com site has the repair instructions to drop the front subframe. My advice is use gasket sealer on both sides of the new gasket. I used Permatex Ultra Black. It's been leak free for 3 years and 80,000 miles.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Just what I was looking for… Thank you! While typically I'm a do it yourself kind of person, I find myself having less and less time to actually undertake the things that I enjoy doing. Working on my car being one of them, unfortunately I have to bring it to an Indy. Hate having to pay someone to do something that I'm fully capable of doing, however working seven days a week 14 hours a day leaves me with no time at all hate having to pay someone to do something that I'm fully capable of doing, however working seven days a week 14 hours a day leaves me with no time at all lol.

That's working too much my friend. I hope it's just temporary. Car repair is work too, but fun... But time is necessary. I have a dedicated shop to work in, so I can take my time. Having to rush a repair job because of time takes the enjoyment out of it. Good luck with the indy.
