F15 10.25 Screen retrofit question

So I've started the retrofit and before trimming the plastic back on the F15 display I wanted to see how much is needed to trim.

But before I can even get that far I'm experiencing that the rear aluminum tabs that slot into the dash do not line up at all.

Indicated in yellow on the display does not slide into indicated in green on the dash.

To make sure I wasn't insane the standard display fits just fine.

Any guidance from someone that's done this is greatly appreciated.

I figured it out. Two plastic stanchions on the 10.25 had to be cut off.

There won't be any. I gave up about an hour ago. There's no way to do it without cutting the dash and/or taking big chunks of material off the display.

I'm not cutting my dash and don't have the means to modify the display properly. The plastic bezel in front (not only the back) needs to be modified. I don't see any other way.

Why not cut the dash if you think that's the only way.

Not like you will take the screen out to sale.

Only cutting is to slightly widen the holes already there....if that is the route of the 2 you decide to take.

If you want to try trimming the CID instead, I have a box of dead CIDs to practice on for $30 each.

Where does one even buy the screen from? I don't care about cutting

Garage List
A G30 5-series screen doesn't require any cutting of the dash or screen, but requires a bit of creativity in mounting it.

You can see where I am in making it work here. I'm going to try making some mount extensions out of thermo-formable plastic so I can use the screw mounts. Also going to try and make a back panel cover to close the gap and slot into the rear mounts the same way.

I won't cut my dash since I prefer any modification I do to be 100 percent reversible - whether it can be seen or not.

I had a screen from a MY2015 F15. I sold it already. They bring good money on eBay.
