Changing a head unit from a 2015 to a 2018

I currently have a 2015 X5 50 m sport, I have an opportunity to get the head unit and entire bang olufsen system.
Will the head unit work in my car ?
What kind of programming and materials do I need
Can the speakers and amp be moved ?
Will this affect my warranty?

Any help will be appreciated

There are a lot of threads on swapping the head unit, look for "NBT EVO"

Its not that easy. You will need ATM and some wiring.

NBT HU is vin protected. So you will need CAN filter.

B&O should be fine.

once you sorted out all the required hardwares, all you need to do is the programming one.

prepare fully working Esys and Enet cable, a windows laptop if you want to make it easier.

not really true but anything related to idrive they wont honor without the original being put back in. now if you have a crack in the seat, different story.

you can always upgrade and keep original parts and put back.

It would be easier to replacement the oem amp with an aftermarket one and upgrade the speakers with aftermarket ones.

If they need to program you car they likely won't do it unless you put back to stock.

They will not be able to run any computer diagnostics or maintenance, including oil service reset. Bye bye warranty right away with NBT EVO.

B&O is a different story.

You can have the dealer do these upgrades for you, no issues with warranty then.

Never had issues with oil service with my idrive retrofit - I just had an oil change and service reset. If doing a vehicle check for diagnostics, different issue as NBt hu will flag. But brake oil flush and engine oil change are no issues for sure.
