OEM Exhaust Mod
I live in southeastern PA and I'm looking into prices for local shops to do an OEM exhaust mod. Any suggestions?

There is a guy locally for me that will do it. I am not familiar with how well he does it, however. He offered to use a muffler that he had laying around that was from another vehicle. I believe he said over $1k for the exhaust and the mod.

He also offered to do a custom pipe with resonators. I am afraid to do that without hearing it first. Don't want to waste over a thousand for a custom job and hate it.

Hey OP
Did you find a reliable source to do the mod? In my opinion, $750 at ACM just does NOT make sense to me. (prefabbed exhaust+labor+give up old exhaust) would love to know if any local member on the forum has successfully done this OEM exhaust mod and would feel comfortable doing side work over the weekend. |

Im close to renting a welder from home depot for $55, and just trying to do it myself with no pre-existing welding skills but just a strong aptitude to "figuring things out". Free BUMP. Hopefully someone chimes in. |

I've seen a few videos on how it's done. Doesn't seem super complicated but what do I know. I wouldn't touch a welder or cut up my exhaust. I'd rather leave it to someone who has welding ability.

I just went to a muffler shop, they had some good welding skills I was told, and showed them the video... They did the 2 pipe mod with welded internal pipes, and had it done in a few hours for around 375$... I could have negotiated as it was a quote prior to them doing it, but I was happy they did it and did it well, so I paid them $400 even. Great sound and not even close to too loud, but definitely loud enough.
