Powdercoat or buy new wheels
Just nabbed a MW/Mocha CPO 2015 X5 xdrive 35i M Sport for my fiance and it came with style 467m wheels. Dealer had just refinished rims (or they were pefect to begin with) and mounted brand new Pirelli Scorpion all seasons.
Fan of the taller tires ride-wise, but dont like the look or un-filled wheel wells. Scenario: 1) Pay $600 to have 467m powdercoated gloss black and keep set till tires die. 2) Try to sell the set while the tires are new 3) Save the $600 bucks, ride out these tires and wheels as is, buy new set of bigger wheels and tires a year or so out. I am from the E9x M-world and know the market for used/aftermarket parts but the F15 is a whole new world for me. What would my set of 467m with new OE tires go for?? Will post some pics of the mineral white gang soon!

I agree, you won't get much for your 467s. Since it's your wifes car do you plan on staying with runflats? If thats the case just use the 467s for winter and get yourself a nice set of summer wheels

Here is a set of 467’s, asking $900. https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1590448
Here is a set of wheels and tires that would look great in your X5, https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1574988

Remember when you go up in size your sidewall will shrink to keep your diameter relatively constant. Don't like the look of unfilled wheels wells, means you need to lower your car.
Not much interest in 467s on the market. Since you are in Chi, may be useful to keep for a winter set. Probably not worth it to have them powder coated. 469s or 599s or 611s or 612s are all good OEM options in 20" and 21" for the F15. |

I have the same wheels and am considering the same options. I am leaning toward powder coating them in black. I have seen pictures from people who've done that and I think it looked pretty nice. That said, if money were no object, I would get 21' black OEMs staggered. However, I know the wife would veto that idea. I might be able to get approval for the $600 cost to powder coat.

If you’re going to get bigger wheels keep these and mount a set of winter rubber on them.

That's what I'll be doing as well, once RFT's wear out on my 467's, gonna throw winter tires on. In the next few weeks, 375's will be mounted, considering nOEMm you're in ChiTown, that might work out well having narrow winter rubber on those 467's!! |

Depends, if you feel ok to drop 3K for your dream wheels-just don't waste your time on powder coating , if you want stay cheap, just keep them as is until tires are worn buy new wheels and tires package, sell old these. If you want to stay super cheap-keep everything the way it is.
