New tires before Lease return?!

I have an '16 F15 at the end of a 3/36. The lease was done in Sept, but I have a G05 on order so extended the lease. I currently have 38k miles on the original runflats.
I understand I will be responsible to have new tires on the vehicle at return, given the current tread is below the cutoff.
Can folks share their experiences in this process? Is there a certain less expensive tire option I should preemptively purchase?
Thanks

I'd say play dumb and see if they say anything when you return it.

try and look for a used set on craigslist or something, pretty sure it'll have to be runflats tho.

I have found with lease returns the tires are the first thing they check...

You better off trying to find a used set... and they will have to be RFT and proper load range..

I have a set of OEM Bridgestone Dueler H/P RFT tires w/ 9/32" left in the Balitmore/DC metro area. Fitment is 20" staggered (275/40/20 front, 315/35/20 rear), date code 2017.

How tires can be new after 3 or 4 years? Are we all have to change tires at end of lease?

Are you picking up the G05 at the dealership? Most sales managers who check the car would ignore those wears and tears items if you are getting another car from them.

Yea if you're buying/leasing the G05 from the same dealership I'd try to return it as is and if they say anything play dumb or use the G05 as leverage. If anything, agree to pay an amount equal or less than what it would cost you to get used tires.

This has been my experience. If you are picking up a new car they won't ding you in the tires.
