Clicking on front Suspension
Couldn't find anything on this topic and just may be isolated to my car. When the car goes into a driveway at an angle at approx 2-3mph, as soon as one tire touches the driveway, there is a clicking that sounds almost like the springs are loose. Anyone experience this? For those who hav had a 996 GT3, it sounds very similar.

I had a ratching sound that could be called clicking when making hard right hand turns. But not at 2 mph. Are you sure the clicking is related to the driveway. Others including myself have heard clicking from the engine when you are in gear around 1 to 2K RPMs.

knifegun's correct, there are two known clicking sounds that members have been discussing, one is from the engine; and the other is when load is applied to the suspension, typically the front left tire(while making a right turn).
inmotion- I have the suspension clicking sound too(not the reving or engine sound); but it's under significant load...so not at 2mph....more like above 40mph going down hill and turning. Under load from my front left; the sound is a chatter or clicking like cards going accross a bicycle spoke. It's not too bad, and doesn't seem to be significant; however when time permits, i'll be bringing my car in to the dealer.

Not sure it's the same but when I hit small pot holes I hear a "clanking" sound, like a loose piece of metal coming from the front suspension!???

I hear the clicking from the engine as well and have that same noise on the M5, so I'm not concerned about that. I am fairly certain it's the suspension and only occurs when I am approaching a driveway from an angle @ 2-3mph. i don't think it is serious, but is a bit odd to me. The 1200 was done a month ago and I just started noticing it a few days ago. I'll keep my ears out for it when turning at a higher speed. Thanks for the responses.

The noise is caused by something, did they indicate what that something was? If not, they have no grounds of knowing that it's A OK, ya know. And if they did identify where and what part is causing the noise, did they explain why? Thanks!

My car has been to the dealer THREE TIMES for the issue. They have replaced the wheel bearings twice. It's still happening and its driving me freaking NUTS! Once they replace the bearings, clean the hubs, and replace the bolts, the noise goes away for about 1000 miles or so.
I'm bringing it in AGAIN and for the FORTH time and they said they are going to replace the rotors this time. I'm really upset with BMW that they have not repurchased my car considering the insane amount of problems I've had with it.
