Hi guys

Sure most have seen we can now have google satellite via carplay

However it's not full screen like my other cars

Is there a way to get it full screen? Seems weird that it's been formatted this way

Curious about this too. I was futzin around with it the other day but could not get Apple CarPlay to be fullscreen. I'm glad that google maps is now on car play though.

I called BMW Genius - they said it isn’t broken, it’s by design. They couldn’t say who designed it this way or when this will be changed.

I’m just curious, why all iDrive software is always half-assed, can’t they hire someone who knows how to do software for once

Carplay display is designed for 4:3 screens... notice that the Business Navigation and the EntryNav HU are 4:3 6.5" and CarPlay is full screen. The Professional Nav is 16:9 8.8".

In my alfa carplay is full screen (8.8" widescreen), including google earth

I test drove a Lexus lc and they have formatted full wide screen carplay too

I believe it's up to the manufacturer to sort the aspect ratio
