BMW M4 drivetrain problems
I bought a brand new car in bmw.
After 5000 km it was the first time when it happened. While I drive car show notification like on picture and car car starts shaking and lose power. After stop and turn the engine off and on, everything worked again. It happened roughly every 7000km. From 40000km I have new engine and turbos for warranty, because of oil leakage. Now I have 50000km and its continues but every 2-3 days. What could it can be? |

First off, I think you should probably stop driving that car.
A few questions: what BMW do you have? M3/M4? Regarding the motor that was replaced, oil leak from where? I interpret your post as saying that the new motor at this point has gone 10000 km. Is that correct? Is any warranty still in effect on the new motor? While I am very interested in your answer to these questions, I really think your car needs to be at an authorized dealer for a scan. Also, I wouldn't drive this car unless I absolutely had to. I'm in North America where I think warranty parameters are quite different from where you are and I also wouldn't be surprised if the dealer-to-factory relationship is not the same as what I'm used to. All the same, very sorry to hear about your motor and interested to see how this works out for you. |

Was your car tuned?
Standard limp mode. The car basically is shutting down to a failsafe mode to protect the engine from damage. Could be many things typically I would just pull over turn the car off and it would go away. If it keeps recurring however it could be a more underlying issue. You already had your engine and turbo's replaced under warranty? Taking it in to your service center and getting the codes read would be in your best interest. Too many variables just to guess here. |
