new member, MY2019 BSM M4
New member to the M club! I've been a long time reader, but now first time poster. I just wanted to thank all the members for their posts and comments; they really helped me make the decision to get my first M!
I had a long discussion with my CA about what I wanted and he placed a order on 6/28/18 and it went into production status 150 almost immediately! I ordered the 2019 M4 with Competition package, Exec package, Black Saphire Metallic, Full Black Marino leather, black 666M wheels. I know some don't care for the "murdered out" look but I love black on black on black! I've owned a 2008 BSM 335i M sport and then 2015 BSM 335i M sport and while they were fantastic cars, they didn't really prepare me for the M4. I've only driven the M4 for 700 miles so far and it still just amazes me! Just an overwhelming car! I'm staying within the 5500 rpm break in limits but it is so quick that I have to drive it like a motorcycle and realize that other cars are just not prepared for how fast this car can move! Just a few newbie impressions, first the cold start doesn't sound like what I have heard in the early videos, maybe they did something for 2019 but it is loud and not as tin can sounding as in the videos, it actually sounds very good and once warmed up in less than a minute, it sounds like a beast! The ASD is not intrusive like on the 2018 M4 and M3s that I test drove, sounds natural, again maybe something different on the 2019? I drive out of the neighborhood in the early morning in efficient and comfort and its not too loud but after that, its sports plus all the time and the car sounds awesome! The only "mods" I have done are the port installed OEM carbon fiber spoiler, 15% Suntek Carbon tint all around and spray painted the exhaust can black. I know this thread is "worthless without pictures" so I included some below! |

Dustless Brake Pads
Now that you have purchased that sweet ride, do yourself a favor and install dustless brake pads. The difference is incredible and with those comp wheels ..will save you a ton to time cleaning them. I now have over 5K on my pads with no issues.

Congrats on the new ride!
I suggest having the car ceramic coated. Makes all the difference with maintenance of that paint. Whereabouts in Florida are you?

I love the triple black look! Good choice on full leather too. That was a must have for me as well. Looks amazing. These pics were pre-tint. I gotta take some new ones after the next bath. |
