Still can't get it to work so not sure if the file 2019-1 is complete.
The system never prompt for update.. I have updated to 2018-1 myself with life time code so I'm familiar with the process.

After inserted the USB in the armrest, the update screen just doesn't prompt.

Anyone else? I'll try to download it again

You need to move all extracted files and folders ("1", "2", etc.) to the root of the USB drive.

I had the same problem. 2 things to consider. First make sure you move all files out of the main folder it will not work if you only have 1 folder. Second make sure you plug in the USB prior to turning on the ignition/car as that's the time it's looking for the update.

Different headunits.

NEXT for the NBT, Premium for the CIC and EVO for the NBT EVO.

Yes I have everything out of the folder in the root directory.

I have tried Fat32, exFat and NTSF but none of them will work.

I'll try plug in the usb prior to starting the car to see if that makes any difference. I recall previously I had the car running and inserted USB for 2018-1

Check that you don't have EFI volume on the USB stick.

When I downloaded last week, file was complete, it took a while to download. The process is the same as 2018-1. Make sure your USB is wiped clean and put all folders and files on 1 volume. USB should only show one volume: folders 1-4 and files.

hey guys so let me get this straight, you move all the folders out of "1" "2" "3" "4" to the root dir of the USB? There are also a lot of folders under those as well ...

Ive tried doing the above, ive also tried doing the original way the files came which is a couple files + the folders "1" "2" "3" "4" and i've still not been able to get the update to recognize. I am also running NEXT software on my BMW (2015-1)

can someone post a screenshot of what its supposed to look like? also im using a macbook pro -> do i format to FAT ? there is no option for Fat32 but i think MS-DOS FAT is FAT32

Mac adds EFI partition, which makes the drive unreadable by a BMW. The only way on the Mac to make it right is to use a command line. Where in Toronto are you? I can borrow you my USB with a map if you've got NBT.

North York near keele/finch area! but also drive towards fairview mall as i have my sister living there :-) work in mississauga hurontario/401 area! that would be awesome if you have it ready!

That USB Stick came through upgraded to 2019-1 :-)

now question for anyone in canada, is it worth the 3-year Real Time Trafic Information? its a $200 subscription for 3 years. I have been using waze but waze i've found will often lead me into traffic not away from it.

I use it all the time. Gives me enough information to decide on the optimal route and avoid unexpected traffic and all on the car display, which I find much less distracting to use than a phone.

did anyone successfully upgrade to 2019 map version?
I am trying using the usb in console on X5-F15 2015 but no luck to read the data.

Drive is 64 GB, FAT32 formatted; the root structure is:

when i jumped in the car i turned on the ignition then put the drive in the USB in the central console. and nothing happened.

also i am trying to read and generate FSC using ENET cable and 1B CIC FSC File reader.exe on a windows 8 VM running on MAC.

your help is appreciated.

I have installed it. My advise is to use a pc. Even in a windows VM on mac, as soon as you eject, osx will mount the fat32 and create a bunch of thrash files on the root folder (invisible) which will prevent idrive from detecting the disc.

Another not advisable option is to format in VM, and after all writing is done, yank the USB out and see if it works in idrive. As long you arent writing to the disk, it should be fine.
