I can't seem to drive my M3 ;)
It's been three weeks since I took delivery of may car and I only have 197 miles on it. 7 where on the car when I took delivery!
Anyone else beat that? Anyone else have an M3 that is just sitting in their garage? When I go to the grocery store I don't take it because I don't want t an SUV door ding. When I go to the golf course I typically take a buddy or my daughter and our 2 golf bags barely fit, besides the bags are already in my RX350 so we just take that car. I home office so I don't drive to work. We just took a mini vacation to the mountains this week and drove the RX350 because we needed the room for 2 suitcases and gas prices suck for 300 mile trips. AND I DIDN"T WANT ROCK CHIPS. Hard to put miles on this thing. |

Ha, I have had my car for less than a week and I have 1000 miles on it. Going in for my service first thing next week. Living out in the country is great when you have a car like this (except the winters here).

Avoid chips: Install a clear bra
Avoid door dings: I hate to break it to you but door dings are not limited to only grocery store parking lots. There's always a good spot anywhere you go, you just need to find it. What's the point of having it if you cant drive it and enjoy. It's car, it's meant to be driven. |

Wow! Seem to be a lot of people on this forum who treat their cars like they're made of fine porcelain or something. Between the painter's tape guys, the don't valet guys, the never park it outside guys, the no liquids inside it guys, the multiple times per week detailer guys, and now this guy, the outside observer would think M3 owners are a bunch of OCD freaks!
Just kidding around, friend. But seriously... it's only a car. Now get out there and flog the hell out of it. You've got some catching up to do |

That's right. Park at the very end spot and pull close to the curb. When the 1972 Olds 2 door pulls in next to you he can't door ding you if he tries. It works - I havn't had a door ding since I was in high school (when I drove a 1972 Olds) and didn't care.

You need to take some Matrix school courses where they teach you how to avoid rocks that are flying around. You need to install some computer animation software to your iDrive though as that is the only way you can perform Matrix like evasive moves. That's me in the picture in Matrix school last week...
. . . . You can't stop "things" happening to your car. I'd say stop worrying and start enjoying it.

Had mine for 13 days and am on 980 miles.
If I had an appointment for 1200 service this week, I would have drove it more but since mine is next Monday, I'm not driving it as much.
