New to BMW....starting off with E93 M3

Hello and thank you for a great forum. I'm new to BMW and last week was ready to pickup a slightly used '07 SL55 for my wife. Just before making the purchase, wifey returned from a weekend in Las Vegas and said she had seen a very nice looking hardtop convertible BMW at one of the casinos. We decided to have a look and do some research. I have never seen her so excited during a test drive I was blown away during my short time behind the wheel. We drove the 6MT but decided to order an '09 with the DCT. Now the waiting begins Oh well....it'll give me some time to study up a bit on bimmers.

Welcome! The closest I've gotten to the E9X M was a test drive. I know you will LOVE the car. I'm currently enjoying my E46 M i got a few weeks ago. Glad I made the purchase!

Be warned, the long waiting can make you do strange things,... like nearly convince yourself you'd rather have a B3 than an M3.

Let's hope my waiting is nearly over before I lose my sanity completely...

Welcome aboard Dr. T -- and congratulations on your pending E93 M3 order! The wait is, indeed painful, but this board is so full of information, the days will fly by like hours. My E93 M3 is due stateside sometime next month.

Have you decided on a color combination and options? Let us know how you plan to kit-out your new car.

New M3 owner

I signed up on this post about a month or so ago and did when I got deliver of my '08 US spec E92 M3. May I add it's my first BMW and it's awesome! Here is a pic. I'm at 2200 miles, got the first 1200 mile service done, no problems and still working the break-in period. Even at half throttle, 4th or 5th gear I'm passing fast traffic, especially in the "M" mode. Can't imagine what it's gonna be like at full throttle, max rpms. Enjoy your new M3 cause nothing lasts for ever!
