Carbon fiber undertray

Hey, I am thinking of making some carbon fiber or fiberglass (for lower costs) undertrays to replace the aluminum undertray. It should only be 1-2 pounds since I will make them very thin vs the aluminum which is 10 pounds.

I think pricing would be around $300 since they are a simple design and should be easy to replicate.

Would anyone be interested in these if I made them?

Hey,

Could you post a photo or part # ("Real OEM") & diagram of the specific piece you would be replicating?

From my understanding of the part your talking about, for that price, if it's C.F., I'd be interested.

Cheers!

Item number 6, but now that I have seen the name of it, It will likely have to be made of thick carbon fiber to maintain the rigidity of the aluminum panel.

Yes if you have seen the oem one, you will notice it is thick and strong. Important consideration should be taken in its fabrication

Rigidity and durability would be my biggest concern. On track would make more sense. Daily driving it would just get pummeled by rocks, sand, road debris, etc.

If you could make it in carbon fiber for that price I'd be impressed. I imagine it would cost at least $300+ in materials/production/prototyping.
