Primary cat delete - how loud compared to stock & catless?
On a scale, how would you describe the sound difference of stock xpipe versus test pipe/stock xpipe with primary cat delete?
Assuming stock x pipe is 0% and catless is 100%, where does primary cat delete with stock x pipe fall? |

i would say about 80%. My friend has test pipes and it just sounds louder and more agressive. I am running catless and my car sounds slightly louder but much more agressive. Like a tiger that got a sore throat...
People will tell you that it smells but the only time i smell is when i need to get something from the trunk and the car is running. There is a weird rasp at 2k rpm as well when the car is under load. |

I would say from 0 to 3k RPM its virtually no change other than a small increase in smell if that bothers you. But from 3/4k rpm and up it jumps to about a 70% increase in sound I'd say. Just consider state inspections/emissions before chopping up your pipes.

Have a DCT '09 coupe...recently installed an AA x pipe (catless) with 2 resonators and Corsa exhaust...0-3k rpms acceleration in gears 1-3 and when the car is under load, the sound is a bit too much...have an Alpine 93 octane stage 2 tune along with the GTS DCT tune...car is crazy quick with both...smell doesn't bug me...just trying to sort out if it's worth modifying my oem x pipe to get rid of primary cats - for less sound...if catless is 100% sound, wondering if primary cat delete with oem x pipe will be 70% as loud give take...especially accelerating from 0 and under load...other than that, the sound is terrific and definitely no drone or evasive noise in cabin...thx for any advice...R
