Performance Center M3s - Coming to a dealer near you

Just an FYI - There a hand full of Performance Center M3s going through wholesale auction (Closed auction for BMW dealers only) that will be hitting dealer lots soon. Most are under 7k miles and are NOT CPO eligible.

Just a heads up for the buyer of the YMB M3 with black interior - I may have pooped myself a little in the passenger seat during an instructor hot lap. Sorry!

I wouldn't buy the M3 I abused at my 1-day M school. I'll take the CC brakes though....

Did any of them perform badly? I was just out there (spectator) and can say with certainty that they must suffer from some serious heat soak issues when pressed hard for more than 20 mins.

That has not been my experience nor have I heard anyone else say that. I attended the M track day event down here in south Florida with 90+ degree heat and high humidity and the cars performed flawlessly all day run after run.

At the right price, I wouldn't have a problem. That's the key though....dealers WILL try to screw you on these

I had a few issues during a 2 Day M School in July at Thermal. It was 120+ ambient, so track was much hotter. Reduced power once and lost power steering towards the end of the session. The M2 I drove on the short autocross also lost power steering, but I was the only one to experience those issues

Doubtful - one of the strong suits of the F8x is cooling. And I doubt the Performance Center would push the cars to failure because that would be a little embarrassing.

Your out of your mind to consider one of these PC vehicles considering issues that others have had in the past.

What if someone was looking for a track car? Like I said, at the right price.

Are you willing to go self insured aka no warranty? Order yourself a M4 GT4 for a proper track car.

I hope the front passenger bumper of this M3 from December 2017 is fixed prior to auction.

Indeed for the right price anything is attractive. Being it's a closed sale (BMW dealers only) they will think they are gold.

I'd consider anything at the right price. I'd be a buyer at 40-45k. But, these cars will likely sell to unsuspecting people thinking they're getting a "like new", or "demo", at a great price. Probably in the 62-68k range depending on how they're equipped. Maybe more even...what do I know? The fact that they cannot be CPO'd devalues the cars quite a bit, but like I suggested, some people don't know any better.

Besides that one car, which to be quite honest, is just a vibration issue, I haven't seen any other threads where a PC car has had major issues. I'm not saying that justifies some of the prices that dealers are charging for them, but it does speak to the robust s55 drivetrain.

Agree that dealers will try to screw buyers on these ($55k+). Just goes to show you...press a dealer for the details when inquiring about a used car. They will only share what they have to, so get the answers you need before buying.
