October would be the earliest as they do not build cars in August, IIRC.

Yup. Even if you get a September 1st build date, and I'm not even sure that the model year switches then, you've got about 4 weeks before the car comes in.

I think so, I had an 08 on order for a long long time(it would be finishing up being built next week) then last month I decided to go with an 09 instead. My guy called me today and said they just got their first 09 allocations and asked if I still wanted it.

I have a 2009 E90 M3 on order (deposit down) and was told by the dealer that production on the 09's start in September with a typical lead time to delivery of about 6 weeks, therefore the earliest you would see your car is around mid-October.

Congrats... the wait begins. My dealer just told me that allocations are a just a bit away still... but that I'm first on the list. Maybe has something to do with 19"s and DCT. October will be fun.

My CA just e-mailed me with the production number for my September build 2009 DCT E90 allocation. Number sequence is 677xxxx. My previous # for the June 08 build I had (before switching my order to an 09) was 672xxxx.

I just put my production number into bmwusa.com. The "previous life" of my number was a 2001 jet black 540i (manual). Much better than the previous life of my original 08 production number which was a 2001 steel grey 325i (auto). Pretty silly, but I feel like this is good karma for my future baby!! ha ha

I just started a thread in the ordering forum that has a PDF of the Vehicle Inquiry Report for my 09 order with some notes on changes from the VIR on my previous 08 order.
