M4 Boot Storage

Is the M4 boot (non-convertible) the same size as a standard 4-series?

I have a latptop to throw in the boot, and am looking for storage options to prevent it sliding around.

I know that it does not directly answer your question, but what I have is a non-slip mat in the boot, and a collapsible crate (from Wickes or B&Q). Stops stuff moving around in mine.

Is your mat a snug model-specific shape, or just a piece laid in the middle of your boot?

I was thinking of getting 4 metal velcro secured corners to stick down creating a frame for me to lay my bag into. Had this in a previous Jag, but the velcro wrecked the original boot carpet, so if I went down that route, I'd have to lay a boot liner down first.

It is just an old mat I have had for years now. I do have hoops for a net in my car, but have not come across an official net for the car yet.

I have a laptop (don't we all) I just sling it in the boot in my case, no issues at all.

The OEM BMW sculptured liner from my 330d fits perfectly in my M4 so the floor area at least is the same.

It comes with a net if you go for the storage option. I've never used it!

My other half had a 420d which had the extended storage (including net anchored to boot floor). When we px’d it I swapped the boot floor section with my m4 as I didn’t have that option and it was exactly the same size part. The boot is definitely the same.
You need this part and then the net to fit it;

This is one with the net although in the USA

Won't it fit under the boot floor? A 13.3" one in a sleeve does...

No, no storage option. But I have just realised I've been robbed by the dealer. My Windbreak isn't behind the rear seats! FFS!!

Sorry - only now realised you have a convertible. So ignore what I said about boot liners!

Sorry, just seen your post now.
Glad you’ve sorted it, I just dropped the rear seats and the back bit came out easily

Cool and that link about for the insert definitely fits the F82 - I.e is it the same as normal 4 series?

I swapped an f32 one for my f82 one and it was exactly the same size. As long as you’re getting an f32 one you’ll be fine which is what the add states (4 series coupe)
Here’s a pic of it in mine;
