Withdrawals
(Note: This is based on real events that I am experiencing right now, but I was in a slightly goofy mood, so here you go.)
I am writing as a form of therapy, so thank you for visiting my little self-indulgent pity party. I, like most of you, have been dreaming wistfully of owning a new 2008 M3. Ah, to hear the sound of that engine, to feel the turns that must be defying the laws of physics, to smell that ... well you know ... new car smell. Months, or was it years ago, (time, like memories seems to melt into the past) a forum was discovered. Here at last, small beacons of light shined in the darkness of the wasteland of the uninformed masses who did not understand the 'M'. And here I am again, back to that place, looking for the light. For the sake of brevity (which as you can see I am the paragon of succinctness), I shall jump to a point <ahem> I mean the point. It is now 14 days since I picked up my beloved M3. Ah the beauty, the primal thrill, the parting of cash, all so dear. It is also now 13 days since I had to say a sweet good-bye and wish my new sick friend a speedy recovery. It is currently in the loving and competent care of the dealership. But while absence does make the heart grow fonder, it also tears and rips that same heart until it seems nothing can slake the need to reunite and once again be whole. I dream, nay, yearn for that call. That call that seems to never come. That call that would inform me to come bring my baby home. ------------ Thanks for reading And oh yeah, here's to hoping I get my car back soon!! Cheers |

Here is a link to my post on what happened:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...&postcount=148 Net, net - computer/audio/EDC weirdness. Things have gotten a little more interesting since that post, as it seems that whatever part they needed was something that only the factory in Germany could "hardcode" correctly. So they evidently got a high priority replacement done and it is shipping to the US and should have arrived today. In the meantime, the dealership got my tint installer to do my tint while the car was in limbo, which was nice. But even nicer was that my CA said they picked up the tab on it, since things have been delayed and they appreciated my patience. I love the dealership and my CA. But less than 24 hours with my car, and now two weeks without it are causing serious separation anxiety Thanks |

Got my car back today!! Looking forward to actually getting to drive it finally. According to the service advisor they eventually figured out that there was a crimped wire on the EDC sensor on the back right wheel. So hopefully all is well now.
Cheers. |

I find it hard to believe a crimple wire on the EDC sensor or back right wheel would make your radio blast a full power. is this strange kind of malfunction something that would occur with a car of that grade let's say a Lexus (note: i hate Lexus).

Believe it. This aint your daddy's BMW. Lots of tech here, which means lots more potential of screwy gremlins rearing their ugly little heads.
