Incentives Between Regions Transferable?
I am taking delivery of my new M3 hopefully within the next week or so. I live in CT and the dealership is in NYC. CT/NYC incentives for May are showing $2K finance and 3.99% for 60 months.
If i search a Boston zip code, i see 1.9%/60 months and $3K incentive. Of course, i'll ask the sales person if they can honor the Boston incentives, but has anybody here EVER seen this happen? Essentially taking another region's incentives and applying it? |

The logical answer would be no.
The only loophole (that potentially work), you fly over to buy the car from Boston area dealer and drive it back to NYC/CT. BMWNA/BMWFS has reason giving more incentive to certain regions, cause the demands are lower in those areas; transferring incentives from different regions defeats this sole purpose. |

I was able to do this a month ago. My local region offered 1.9 but the car I wanted was in another region and was offering the 3.9 rate. I was told by that dealership that they could match. I was sceptical because a dealer response here on the forums said any loopholes that use to exist to do this were closed. It all went through without issue and I did get the lower rate. I never enquired what allowed them to do it. It probably didn't hurt this was part of negotiating a price from the start and I was ready to provide my own financing.

My dealer/finance guy changed his tone real quick when he wasn't giving me the base rate and I told him I was about to go elsewhere to a local CU. |

So my dealer let me walk on the finance. My local credit union offered 2% vs. BMW's 3.99%. Dealer said they couldnt do anything about it. Oh well, it's all the same to me.

Your situation could be different than the previous poster.
I agree, dealer can match close to CU rate if that's the only variable. But looks-like in your case you are combining interest rate and APR credit money. Those two come from BMWFS, dealer can't give you the credit, say $2000 or $3000 depending on region then finance the car thorough CU for better rate. Crazy idea, but how about take the credit APR from BMWFS, go along with their higher rate (for at least 3-4 payments), then refi with CU. Most CU will give you new car rate on 2018 car for this year. I did talk to them but it's a hassle and not worth my while since I am paying off my car in less than a year anyway. |
