ordered moonroof got CF

My Space Gray came in today, I was so stoked, I went to the dealer and as the bad boy came cruising around the corner I noticed the CF roof, WTF!!!!
I ordered moonroof because I thought the CF was a bit "ricey".
Took about an hour before I realized how bad ass it looked, especially when it was sitting next to a SG 335 with a moonroof. Also, the dealer said tough Sh$#, sorry, we can order another one and have it by Feb09. Also, wouldn't take a dollar off, because they said they would have the car sold by the weekend. Anyways, sooooo much sweeter in person...

Ricey... most overused car forum term that apparently has no real meaning anymore

I thought about going sedan since I have kids and all but no CF roof = no sedan.

Double win whammy!!!! (don't look back)......Think of the weight you saved - better power to weight ratio and..... better handling dynamics due to better concentrated weight down low in the centre of the car and reduced weight up top.
I'd consider you very lucky with the balls up they made.

It's not rice when it's OEM, done right, and has real benefits. My GF just got her M3 with the moonroof and now I'm glad I got mine in CF...

the M3 looks so much taller with the moonroof. the CF makes it look much much better... what a fortunate little mistake they made...

....is it space grey or sparkling graphite? both are SG...

they really said they wouldnt discount it bc they would sell it by the weekend? I thought that there are a $hitload sitting on lots in irvine? I like the CF roof but it seems more a marketing gimmick than anything else. If you have a steel roof w/o moonroof the weight difference is only like 10 lbs. im also curious as to repair costs if there is damage.

Ricey? I don't think so and the dealership did you a favor. Congrats!

Yeah she just got it after she fell in love with mine. She's making good sized payments on it so to me that's not keeper material... I think that's a financially irresponsible purchase as I like paying for things in full. I honestly think she needs to get rid of it even though I like her choice in cars. We'll see if good sense prevails...

As for the car, it's just a black E92 M3 with a moonroof, 18" wheels, nothing special. Looks like a sleeper next to mine...

CF roof DOES look a lot better in real-life. The only time it doesnt look good is in strong light when you can see the detail of the CF pattern. But 99% of the time it looks great and compliments the smooth roofline. I like it.

I'd be disappointed at the attitude. Tell them you are disappointed and expected better. Don't say pissed, that argumentative and will not get you what you want. At this point, you are buying a car off the lot with low miles and most of the options you want. Point that out to them. If you want to do that, you should look around and find the best deal you can for the car that best fits what you want. Basically, you've found a car that is most of what you want to buy but the dealer is NOT someone you want to work with. Do you want to deal with these people? There is a saying, "Don't throw good money after bad". You've already sunk xx weeks into waiting for this dealership to come through. They did not. Do you now want to give them your money too?

I saw a Space Grey with CF roof being delivered at my dealership last week and it looked incredible! I saw one with the moonroof a while back and there is no comparison from an aesthetic point of view. I am a little apprehensive about not having a moonroof, but I got so much flak from the nephew and car buddies that I ordered the CF roof. I have been driving my 335 without using the moonroof to get used to it.
